Time to get voting please: The story keeps unfolding when it comes to the Apple iPhone 4G, or is it the iPhone HD. Earlier on today we reported an email stating that the all-new iPhone 4G will release June 1 2010, well there is more news to boot.

We have had another comment sent in via Gregory Hannigan, GregoryH@AppleAdmin.com stating “Yeah I work for apple’s regional branch in South Asia, the iPhone HD will be released on June 1st, 2010 in USA. We hope the iPhone HD will receive the same, if not better response as the 3gs. Thank You Apple fans for your continuous support and feedback”.

No one knows if these emails and or comments are true or false and only Apple themselves can prove them otherwise, only time will tell.

Exciting news, people who watch TV! CNN will finally go fully HD sometime this spring! This is a great day for news junkies and people who constantly need to be reading a ticker.

The network first launched its HD channel two years ago, but only programming emanating from its New York studios were done in HD; Atlanta- and D.C.-based programming was still in boring ol’ SD. But no more! Starting this spring, it’s HD 24 hours a day~!

Among the shows that will gain several lines of resolution: Rick’s List with Rick “from the barrio” Sanchez. Sanchez, you’ll recall, challenged East Side Dave (again, whom I interviewed), from Ron and Fez, to a fight in light of the Shorty Awards Twitter controversy. Dave accepted his challenge, but Mr. Sanchez has been awfully quiet since then. What’s the matter, dogsie, afraid the Davepound knows how to scrap?!

Do I have to mention that I wrote two articles for CNN.com, one about the iPad and one about Ubisoft’s DRM? Well I just did, so there.

- DVI (Digital Video Interface) cable

- Component Video cable

- Composite Video cable

LONDON–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Virgin Media, the UK’s leading digital entertainment company, has signed an agreement with Universal Networks International to make the SCI FI channel available to its digital TV customers in High Definition.

Launching on Virgin TV in advance of its anticipated rebrand to Syfy HD on 13th April, the channel will show some of the best imagination-based entertainment every day, including the forthcoming, much-talked-about UK premiere of V, a re-imagining of the 1983 ground-breaking invasion mini-series.

In addition, the high-octane, action-packed drama Human Target will also make its UK television debut in April, taking its place alongside SCI FI favourites Legend Of The Seeker, Sanctuary and the classic Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

The way the graphics war is going at the moment, it’s like AMD is starting its very own game of Battlefield while adding more and more irrelevant spawn points. Its already got heavily armed squads holding onto the three main spawn points; the low, mid and high-end of the graphics sector and Nvidia hasn’t even logged in yet.

AMD isn’t resting on its laurels though, it’s bringing out more troops to take the pointless spawn points of every other conceivable price bracket. This HD 5830 then is supposed to be bolstering the front line, covering the gap between the HD 5770 and the HD 5850.

While it may not be a gap we were particularly bothered about, or even aware of, AMD has seen fit to plug it with another slab of confusing silicon. Luckily, things have been made very easy for us all with the HD 5830 as it’s a card that you shouldn’t be bothered about.

No matter how much money you’ve got or the native resolution of your monitor, this is one card that hasn’t even got a round hole to fit its square peg into.

How much?

The big problem is that price spawn point. Two hundred pounds is a lot of cash to spend on a graphics board so you’d want something special for your money, and not some half-baked, half-way house of a card.

Seeing this imaginary gap in the market AMD has created something that’s only slightly better than a HD 5770, and far worse than a HD 5850 and yet sits directly in the middle price-wise.

The HD 5830 sports the same basic 40nm Cypress chip as the HD 5870 and HD 5850s, but with the memory bus and ROPs count slashed in half. That makes it a rather hobbled affair only just holding up against the Juniper-based HD 5770.

Indeed, it was only the somewhat strange World in Conflict benchmark that showed any clear space between the HD 5830 and HD 5770, leaving nothing to choose between them in the theoretically more exhausting Far Cry 2 and DiRT 2 tests.

With the HD 5850s so thin on the ground, the cynic in me is screaming inside my wee skull. This card isn’t being created by AMD despite the reference board we have here (using as it does the same cooler and PCB as the HD 5870) what it’s doing is giving the chips to the graphics companies for them to design their own PCB around this hobbled GPU. It feels like AMD is throwing a bone to its manufacturing partners, so they can create their own individual spins rather than relying on slightly different coolers on standard reference boards.

Unfortunately, as I’ve said, this GPU isn’t one that you should be that bothered about. Unless one of AMD’s partners finds a way to unlock that 256-bit memory interface and open up the ROP count that is.

According to Slashgear, Lenovo has unveiled three new Full HD LCD displays including one sporting a multi-touch screen.

Among them the L2261 Wide and L2361p Wide offer 250cd/m2 brightness and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio. While the first features a 21.5-inches wide screen with an anti-glare screen coating and an integrated PSU, VGA and HDCP-compliant DVI-D connectivity, the latter features a 23-inches wide screen, HDMI input, 0.3-megapixel webcam, speakers, a microphone and three port USB 2.0 hub.

The specs of the new highlight model, the multi-touch Lenovo L2461x Wide, include a 23.6-inches wide screen, HDMI and VGA, 2-MP webcam, speakers and microphone, a LED lightbar that’s controllable from a capacitive touchstrip, 300cd/m2 brightness and 1,000:1 contrast.

No word on pricing but they are scheduled to be released within this month.

TomTom HD Traffic for iPhone: €49.99/year

TomTom today released the latest version of their application for iPhone, including HD traffic compatibility and local search powered by Google.

TomTom HD Traffic is immediately available via in-app purchase in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United Kingdom for an additional fee of €0.79/5.99/14.99/49.99 per day/month/quarter/year. The service “will be later available in other countries”, said TomTom.

The application also offers a few other improvements such as the ability to pinch and zoom the map, an automatic day/night mode based on local sunrise and sunset times and a music fading feature during turn-by-turn instructions.
